NBA Southwest Division: Houston Eyes Three-peat

If it was not for an home record for the San Antonio Spurs last season, the Houston Rockets could have turned into a train from the Southwest Division. As it was, the Rockets won their second straight division title over the Spurs with a five-game guide plus a record. The remaining part of the branch ended 20 games back with equivalent 33-49 records. Moving into 2019-20, Houston is once more crossing the oddsboard to three-peat.
Online sportsbook BetOnline gets the Houston Rockets as the favorite in -280 to win the Memphis Grizzlies at +15000, the Dallas Mavericks at +1100, the New Orleans Pelicans in +1200 and the Southwest Division followed by the San Antonio Spurs at +400.
The Rockets put a powerful 2018-19 campaign that saw them win the division move 53-29 and finish fourth in the West together. They were eventually knocked off by the Warriors in six games at the Conference Semifinals. They return most their lineup with the only change. Chris Paul is out and Russell Westbrook is currently in, reuniting with Harden for the first time as they played in Oklahoma City in 2011-12. I dont foresee a lot of change from this past year and Houston must amass 55 or more wins in 2019-20.
It was Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde for the Spurs last year in their house and away splits. In the home, San Antonio went 32-9 while on the highway it went 16-25. Because their starting five is good but not great, Why is the Spurs an intriguing staff is their depth. When they turn to their own seat there isnt much of a drop off which makes them unsafe for the entire duration of the games, or should they wish to rest players or harms. Start looking for Dejounte Murray to blossom as the point guard and again San Antonio will be a squad, however I do not think it has enough to get to Houston.
Although that may be eligible for a ribbon dallas is the most advanced team in the Southwest Division, its insufficient for the division??title. In power ahead guard Luka Doncic and the preseason some chemistry is being shown by Kristaps Porzingis and must be a lively duo this year. The starting five is adequate middle of the bunch depth will be an issue, although I would say , especially if there was an accident to one of their starters. Mavs are going to take a step ahead but will likely still be on the outside.
New Orleans is going to be a team to watch this year, however, dont expect much from the manner of their standings because the West is really tough. The Pelicans added Brandon Ingram along with Lonzo Ball from the trade that saw Anthony Davis go to the Lakers. In Addition, New Orleans acquired the high-flying Zion Williamson out of Duke with the first overall pick. There are Nickeil Alexander-Walker from Virginia Tech as well as some pieces with ETwaun Moore, JJ Redick and Jahlil Okafor. Interesting , up and coming staff but none to battle for the division title.
It is going to be an uphill battle for Memphis this season, however they should have some excitement with pick Ja Morant. They are an athletic group that will not be a walkover, however,??finding wins might be challenging to perform. Also, are a depth players to help when the starters are napping, especially: Tyus Jones, Jae Crowder and Andre Iguodala. I look forward to watching Morant connecting with Jonas Valanciunas below the rim, however, that is about it.
