National League Favorites

Newly rich Nolan Arenado is second on the oddsboard behind Bryce Harper at the National League at +850. The Colorado Rockies made a great run last year and Arenado proved to be a significant part of it. It remains to be seen when the Rockies can stay hot this year and it also remains to be seen when Arenado is afflicted with the curse of the huge contract. Arenado had a .935 OPS last year up from his .886 profession mark. The third baseman had 38 home runs and 110 RBIs to lead his group.
Paul Goldschmidt, that had been dominant for a time period for the Arizona Diamondbacks last year, has proceeded to St. Louis to play for the Cardinals. The ninth-year major leaguer had 33 home runs and 83 RBIs last season but really fell off in late August and through September when his team was in a race. Expectations will be higher today than ever, and if he’s got the same reaction to stress because he did last season, the MVP is a long shot.
At +1800, Manny Machado is among the MVP candidates in the NL after signing with the San Diego Padres, remaining in California after being traded to the Dodgers last summer. Machado drew the ire of fans and baseball commentators along with his laissez-faire mindset down the stretch and in the playoffs with the Dodgers. Comparing him to some man who comes to play every day such as Kris Bryant, at +900, I’d take the latter each time.
