British number two Heather Watson attained a WTA semi-final with victory over Magda Linette in the Tianjin Open for the first time since January 2018.
Watson, 27, saved four match points to beat Polish planet number 42 Linette 7-5 6-7 (4-7) 7-6 (8-6) in 3 hours and 2 minutes.
She reached a WTA semi-final at the Hobart International 21 weeks ago.

Victory over eighth seed Linette ensures Watson will go back to the world top 100 next week.
She will play Russias Veronika Kudermetova or even Ukraine seed Dayana Yastremska for a place at the final.
