Former Anderlecht executive Herman Van Holdbeeck arrested in money laudering and corruption probe

Police have detained former Anderlecht executive Herman Van Holsbeeck as part of a money laundering and corruption investigation.
The prosecutor’s office in Brussels says an arrest was made on Thursday after raids this week at Monaco, Belgium and London that led to the arrest of Christophe Henrotay,” one of the most influential agents working together with players.
Van Holsbeeck worked out of 2003 until April 2018 as manager, A former pro player.
Prosecutors said the wave of arrests is linked when Belgian police probed the offices of Anderlecht and also the soccer association to searches that took place in April. Researchers are looking into corruption involving the transfer of players and operations.
With a few of those moves under scrutiny being Aleksandar Mitrovic’s 2015 switch from Anderlecht to Newcastle agent Henrotay was arrested as part of the analysis.
Henrotay is the representative of superstars including his Belgium team-mate Yannick Carrasco and Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
This situation isn’t associated with the massive corruption scandal that dissipates soccer a year ago when authorities carried 57 police raids out from the nation and around Europe at a probe into match-fixing and fraud.
