Ex-Barcelona boss Luis Enrique pays tribute to daughter after tragic death

(CNN) — Former Barcelona and Spain manager Luis Enrique has paid tribute to his own nine-year-old daughter after she passed out from osteosarcoma — a kind of bone cancer.
The 49-year-old released an announcement on Twitter Thursday evening confirming Xana’s death and thanking hospital personnel for their maintenance within an”extreme five weeks.”
“We shall miss you lots but we’ll remember you every day of our lives, using the hope that later on we’ll meet each other again,” read the announcement.
“You’ll be the star that guides our loved ones.”
The Spaniard, who stepped down from his position as Spain’s federal boss at June to spend time with his loved ones, thanked those who sent good wishes but asked for”discretion and understanding.”
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) led the tributes online, stating it”mourned the sad lack of little Xana.”
“we would like to show our condolences to family members and friends, joining us all today to their pain,” it all now tweeted.
A bunch of the former players of Enrique paid their respects to youthful Xana.
“We are together with you, all the strength of the planet,” the Argentine wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, the Spain and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea stated he was”speechless,” while Enrique’s former team Barcelona provided”condolences and all our empathy.”
Tennis legend Rafael Nadal sent his condolence room. The uncle Miguel ??ngel Nadal of nadal is a former Barcelona and federal teammate of Enrique.
“I’m really sad and I am unable to imagine the pain of this household. A enormous hug from a space to Luis Enrique and the family. A good deal of courage and strength in these challenging times,” that he tweeted.
A host of clubs, such as Manchester United, also paid their respects.
Enrique enjoyed a successful acting career. In addition, he won three La Liga titles, once with Barcelona and twice with rivals Real Madrid.
He lasted such victory as a coach, winning the Champions League during his period at the Nou Camp, in addition to two titles and three Copa del Rey trophies.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu expressed his sympathy, writing:”Our support and compassion belongs to Luis Enrique, his wife and all his family at this especially painful moment.”
