Braves vs. Phillies MLB Pick – September 9th

The Atlanta Braves Have Been in Philadelphia for a series from the Phillies.

As Mike Soroka didn’t possess a standout performance for the Braves yesterday day, their winning streak came to an end at nine games. With controlling his pitches although Soroka was have difficulty max Scherzer took control early. The Nationals were able to take advantage and pounced over the Braves.
The final games of the routine are a lot more important for the Nationals, as they try and stay in the Wild Card Game. The Nationals would be hosting the Chicago Cubs if that game were now. More important is the Phillies perform down the stretch.
Philadelphia are in dire need of a few wins in September. Two games may look like nothing, but they are competing against Cubs, Diamondbacks, and the Brewers. The Mets at four games back are still at the wildcard discussion also. To put it differently, they have a great deal of competition to manage.
There is A two-game deficit bigger than it appears. In any event, having to play with lights out down the stretch just to achieve the Wild Card Game isn’t what the office had in mind on this team. They were planning to sign Bryce Harper and it went to put them on the top of the Braves.
Since the Phillies are two factors behind the Braves in the NL East and just two touchdowns. The team to the Braves in the branch are the Nationals at nine matches back. So, Atlanta are in a position and all that is left to do would be clinch.
The way I view it, they are the group who are yearning to the postseason, however, we will see how things play out. Mike Foltynewicz has been heating up of late. His re-emergence would benefit immensely. Folty gets the nod from Aaron Nola tonight in Philadelphia. Head below for our complimentary Braves vs. Phillies pick.

Mike Foltynewicz needed a coming out party in Atlanta last year. He had a career-high ERA of 2.95 and there have been lofty expectations for him to follow this up with another successful effort in 2019. For the large part, this season hasn’t gone as planned for Foltynewicz. That is an understatement, since he carries a 5.28 ERA and then also 1.41 WHIP into Philadelphia on Monday night.
But is he beginning to figure out things at the perfect time to the Braves? He holds an ERA of 1.62 and also 1.14 WHIP in his past three outings. August 8th was the last day he allowed more than just 3 runs in a match. The game that got him moving was an impressive showing against the Dodgers, as Foltynewicz allowed only 4.2 innings of work. A strong showing against a team like the Dodgers could be exactly what he desired.
This can be for true, and if Foltynewicz is not pitching like a flash in the pan recently, then the Braves could get a lift to their pitching staff in October. Along with Soroka and Teheran, the Braves would be in nicer shape than they already were. He’s been strong against the Phillies in his career, as they are hitting .230 at 252 at-bats.
Nola has been just okay. He has submitted a 4.67 ERA in his past three starts. The Braves have joined for 9 home runs and 23 runs from 257 at-bats against Nola. In those 252 at-bats that the Phillies have experienced Foltynewicz, they’ve recorded 15 runs and seven home runs.
The Phillies will be the team, but that doesn’t always equate into a win. Getting +115 about the Braves here seems like a fantastic deal. It is being felt by folty and that I believe the Braves are being undervalued at this price Monday.
